Long gone is the tradition to save your wedding dress. You're aware that your daughter, if you’ll even have a daughter, probably isn't going to want to wear a dress with a style from years ago.

You’re most likely never going to wear the dress again, and as fun as it may seem, maybe you’re not one to ‘trash the dress,’ destroying a perfectly good wedding dress.

If you don't figure out what to do, your dress is going to take up space in your closet for years. Donating your wedding dress is a great option!

Luckily, there are amazing places in Portland, Oregon to donate wedding dresses. Today I’m going to focus on Brides for a Cause.

Brides for a Cause is a bridal store in Portland Oregon that raises funds for charity. They collect and resell donated wedding dresses to raise money for a variety of women-focused charities!

Since 2012, they’ve received over 15,000 wedding dresses and they have given away over $1,000,000 to various local and national charities across the country!

The best part, you don’t need to worry if your dress is dirty or damaged, they will clean and repair it for you!— before reselling it. However, having your wedding dress professionally cleaned as soon as possible will ensure the best chance of it looking as new as possible for the next bride.

Wedding dresses need to be 5 years or newer and can be donated with bridal accessories as well, any size and style are accepted. Brides for a Cause is unfortunately not accepting vintage wedding dresses at this time
